Wenchi Crater Lake sits inside an extinct volcano roughly 150km (about a 3-hour drive) west of Addis Ababa, usually reached via the town of Ambo. It’s the most popular single full-day trip out of the capital for visitors with a spare day before or after the rest of their itinerary.
